He is excited to be reporting at the station that made him want to be a meteorologist and is thrilled about this opportunity. Before that, Tom served as a weekend meteorologist at KCTV, a CBS affiliate in Kansas City, in June 2008, where he built several custom computer programs for the station. He built a system to shuttle the station’s forecast to the Kansas City Star and imported a road temperature map into the station’s weather computer system.
Wachs interned at The Weather Channel in Atlanta and later spent two years as Chief Meteorologist at KNOP-TV in North Platte, Nebraska.
