Shawn Yancy is an American journalist working for WTTG-TV, and FOX 5 News as a News Anchor in Washington, DC. She is a co-host of 6 pm, 10 pm, and 11 pm FOX 5 News. Shawn earlier worked as co-anchored of the 5 am to 7 am Morning News at FOX 5. Yancy started her journalism career with FOX 5 in 2001 September. She did her first report on the 11th of Sep. about the terrorist attacks which turned out to be her first big story in Washington.
Shawn received the 2007 Regional Edward R. Murrow award for the investigative series coverage of The Asbestos Problems in the National Institutes of Health. She also received an Emmy Award for “Outstanding News Anchor” in 2006 which took place in Washington D.C. Additionally, Yancy also received important honors with numerous Associated Press and Golden Quill awards for covering breaking news.
