Michael Usher is an award-winning Australian journalist, investigative reporter, host, foreign correspondent, and news presenter who currently serves at Seven News on Friday and Saturday with Angela Cox and The Latest: Seven News. He joined Nine Network in 1996 where she served as an Olympic reporter leading the Network’s coverage of the 1996 Atlanta and 2000 Sydney Olympic Games. Furthermore, Usher went to Lausanne to cover the corruption scandal that engulfed the International Olympic Committee.
Additionally, was the Nine Network’s correspondent in New York when the Twin Towers were attacked in September 2001. Michael moved to the network’s US bureau where he served for three years as a National Nine News US correspondent based in Los Angeles in 2001. Later returned to Australia to fill in as host of Today, then at the beginning of 2004 covered the London bureau.
Additionally, Michael began presenting Nightline in 2006. One year later, he became a news presenter for the Sunday program. Later in August 2008, he was appointed presenter of the short-lived Nine News Sunday AM. Nonetheless, Usher joined Seven Network where he replaced Melissa Doyle as a weekend presenter on Seven News Sydney in October 2016.
