Jeff Van Gundy is an American journalist, commentator for ESPN, and former basketball coach who served as the coach of the New York Knicks and the Houston Rockets of the NBA. He joined ESPN in 2007 as an NBA analyst where he served as an analyst for The Finals on ABC, the Conference Finals, NBA Saturday Primetime on ABC, and several regular-season and NBA Playoffs games.
Jeff also contributes to NBA Draft coverage and he was the head coach of the Houston Rockets where he had a 182-146 record and also served at the Knicks from 1995 to 2002 and compiled a 248-172 record. Additionally, he played point guard for two seasons at Nazareth College. He also helped the team to the NCAA Division II Eastern Regional title in 1984 and was inducted into the Nazareth College Sports Hall of Fame in 1996.
