On August 31, 2013, the couple tied the knot in a private ceremony that was seen by close friends and relatives. Following their union, Ashley and Ben were able to land jobs at Fox 6 in Milwaukee, where they like to collaborate with one another rather than compete.

She was also among the first to arrive at the scene of the Sikh Temple shooting, standing with the relatives of the victims and attempting to obtain information about what had happened. Sears covered protests in great detail after Dontre Hamilton passed away.
And in the midst of the turmoil in Sherman Park, she covered news live for hours. Ashley is now covering some of Wisconsin’s Most Wanted, assisted by the Fugitive Task Force of the United States Marshals.
The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has recognized Ashley for her work. She has also been nominated for an Emmy three times.
Before moving to Milwaukee, Sears was employed at Champaign, Illinois’s WCIA. Prior to that, she worked as a Champaign bureau reporter for a year at WAND.
